A week of firsts here at Movies on Up!  It’s the first week of two discussion-type episodes, and the first list episode dedicated to one actor.  What better actor to choose than Denzel?  King Kong ain’t got nothin on him.  Find out where faves like Man on Fire, He Got Game, Ricochet and Training Day end up on our lists.  Spoiler alert, one of those movies doesn’t make either list and if you’ve been listening for a while, you can probably guess which.

Thanks to The Champions of All Time for the theme music. It comes from the song “Home” off the CD/DVD Bridges Burned/Lessons Learned.

And a BIG thanks to Morgan Jim Cole for our fly, new logo.

Morgan, I still like our old fly logo.  One is silver, the other gold.

Ryan and Dave smash the old format with two discussion episodes!  In anticipation of The Spectacular Now, the boys take a look at James Ponsoldt’s previous flick Smashed starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Aaron Paul, Nick Offerman, Megan Mullally and Octavia Spencer.  Spoiler alert, Ryan and Dave REALLY like this movie and there may or may not have been a moist eye in the studio for this episode.

Ryan and Dave hitch the Movies on Up wagon to the news and trailers trailer for one final ride.  They boys focus on the big news made by DC and Marvel at Comic Con this past weekend.  Batman in Superman with the Flash, oh my!  Alternate Ultron origins and Wolverine heading Jack to the future.

The final line up of trailers features Hunger Games, Veronica Mars, Metallica, Grabbers, Insidious 2, The Fifth Estate and appropriately, 12 Years a Slave.

Later on this week, Movies on Up gets even sexier with our favorite sex comedies.

Who Should Be The Next Batman?

With DC / Warner Bros. announcement this weekend at San Diego Comic Con that the sequel to Man Of Steel will involve Superman and Batman in some capacity, it’s easy for fans to let their minds start running with who should be the next Bruce Wayne. And with a Summer 2015 release date, the studio and director Zack Snyder will need to make their mind up sooner rather than later on who they want to see wear the cape and cowl.

So, of course we have our own opinions… Continue Reading
